Ryan H. Jones is a composer, arranger, and pianist based out of Lansing, Michigan. Influenced by his experience free improvising, performing classical piano repertoire, and singing in choirs, Ryan enjoys composing music that is visceral, spontaneous, concise, and engaging to perform. He has won the Michigan State University Honors Competition (2018), and he received second place in the Symphonia Chorale New Music Competition (2017). In 2016, his studies took him to Paris, France, where one of his works was premiered at the European American Music Alliance Summer Institute. His work has been featured in The Church Pianist, published by the Lorenz Corporation. Also an avid teacher, Ryan teaches piano and composition privately, and he leads an early childhood music class. Ryan received his Bachelor of Music in Composition from Michigan State University, and his primary teachers have been David Biedenbender and Jere Hutcheson.
