About

Ryan H. Jones is a composer, arranger, and pianist. Influenced by his experience free improvising, performing classical piano repertoire, and singing in choirs, Ryan enjoys composing music that is visceral, spontaneous, concise, and engaging to perform. He has won the Michigan State University Honors Competition (2018), and he received second place in the Symphonia Chorale New Music Competition (2017). In 2016, his studies took him to Paris, France, where one of his works was premiered at the European American Music Alliance Summer Institute. His work has been featured in The Church Pianist, published by the Lorenz Corporation. As a pianist, Ryan enjoys giving recitals, and serves as an accompanist for two choirs. Ryan is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Composition at Michigan State University, and his primary teachers have been David Biedenbender and Jere Hutcheson.
